For many years of my life I lived up to what my environment expected of me. My parents taught me education and a job equals happiness. Their template for life was get educated, married, have kids, buy a nice car, rise up to management level, buy a nice house and you area set for life. So this is exactly what I did.

When I ticked off everything off my list, there was nothing at the top; no fulfilment, no contentment. I still wanted more!

We all go through something similar at some point, right?

We get fed up of what is but don’t know what better looks like.

The single most important thing you can do for yourself is to clearly define what it is that you really want in life. Not what you think will be good for you, not what people say will be good for you, but what you REALLY ant. Make it a clear, concise, present tense sentence because it is this statement and the thoughts and feelings associated with achieving it that will keep you going when it gets tough and lonely en route to your goal.

Are you consciously pursuing what you really want in life? Or are you stuck in resistance of what is but haven’t defined what better looks like? Wherever you are, it’s not too late. You can do something right now by answering this question, WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT?
